Covergirl "Trunaked Roses" Eyeshadow Palette ~ Review & Swatches!

Hey beauties! I was at Walmart recently and I spotted this beauty just randomly sitting on a shelf by its lonesome! I picked it up, and I knew I had to get it. I hadn't seen any publicity or hype about this specific product yet, and I wanted to try it out.

First off, rose gold hues have been super in the last year or so now. I personally love these colors. This palette in color looked comparable to the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I picked mine up for around $9.

There are 8 shades in this palette, ranging from lightest to darkest. You have 2 mattes, 1 satin, and 5 shimmery / glittery formulas. From lightest to darkest - the colors are: Almond (Satin), Champagne (Shimmer), Baby (Matte), Rose Gold (Shimmer with glitter), Copper Rose (Matte), Dusk (Shimmer with pink glitter), Mauvergine (Shimmer), and Mousse (Shimmer with pink & gold glitter). They are super buttery and smooth, it surprised and amazed me! The lightest shade, farthest to the left, was a little powdery but it still performed pretty well. Pigmentation is pretty good for each shade. These shadows claim to be used wet or dry, which is cool if you ask me! (If you wet the shadow, it will show more pigmentation and be a bolder, more dramatic appearance.)

The next two pics are just close ups of the shadows...

I put these shadows to the test and did a whole look using them. Some shades weren't super pigmented when applied with my brush. As earlier stated, they were pretty much all very pigmented when swatched on my hand. The darkest shade I used to deepen my outer V and I had to dip in several times and eventually I used a different shade all together from an Urban Decay palette. I wasn't super impressed with that shade to be honest. I loved the two matte "mauve" toned colors, and they blended out nicely in my crease. I used the 4th from left shade wet with some Mac Fix + spray on my brush, and it applied nicely and more coppery looking. I also liked the first shade (lightest shade), I applied it to my brow bone. It was a nice satin sheen. I would say this is a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. You're only getting 8 shades versus the 12 shades that the Naked 3 has, but you're also only paying 1/5 of the price. I actually like the 2 matte muave shades in this Covergirl palette better, than the higher end brand. I would still prefer my Urban Decay palette over this one, but if you don't have the money for that, this one is definitely very similar.

Please let me know any posts you would like to see! I'm looking for some ideas. Thanks so much for reading todays blog post.
