Colour Pop Craze!

Hey guys! Today I am going to share my thoughts on some new products I tried out recently. You may or may not have heard of them by now, the brand is called Colour Pop! They have tons and tons of colors of eyeshadow, "lippie stixs" and "lippie pencils" as they call them, and now cheek color. Find them here: www.colourpop.com. This brand is known for their affordable products, but not paying an arm and a leg for them. They NEVER test on animals. Every eyeshadow, and lip product is Only $5!!! (Blush is $8). They have a deal on the website if you spend $30 you get Free Shipping, and I'm a sucker for Free Shipping! So of course that's what I did. And if you do that deal, you will get 6 products. (Minus if you choose blush - when I did my order they didn't even have blush on the website yet.)

I got 4 lip products, and 2 eyeshadows. Let's start with the eyeshadows. Each contains 2.1g. The texture of the eyeshadows are very unique to Colour Pop. They are almost wet feeling, and "squishy" or spongy. They're best used with your fingertip for best color payoff. Extremely pigmented, and feel like butter.

First, I picked out the color "Girly" - a "Creamy vanilla with a flash of pink and gold duo chrome finish." as the website states. This color in the pan looks plain and does it no justice! Even on swatches it doesn't look as shimmery as it actually is. But it's beautiful! Like the earlier stated quote from the website, it has shimmery pink and gold flecks throughout. It's great on the lid, or as a highlight color.

Here's the color "Girly". I will show the swatches further down...

Next color I have is called "La La" - which is a "true rose gold in an Ultra Metallic Finish". Very shimmery and gorgeous! This kind of reminds me of Tan pigment from MAC. These eyeshadows last all day and don't crease.

Here they are swatched, on the left is Girly, and LaLa.

Next we're on to the lippie stixs! I got the colors "Skimpy", "BFF", "Bichette", and "Pitch".

As you can see, they have the colors, names and finish on the bottom of each tube. These are very pigmented, and glide on like a dream. I have worn the nude colors quite a bit and love them! They have a slight smell, like plastic-ish? ....(I am not good at describing smells.) But nothing horrible. Let's go color by color to see each of the goodies about them.

|| Skimpy - Gloss finish. " Bare it all with this soft pale nude beige in a glossy finish" as the website states. It is pretty nude, if you don't like that look, then don't go for this shade. I personally love the color and usually top it off with a matching colored gloss.

|| BFF - Gloss finish. "You shall Be Fabulous in this warm peachy nude in a glossy finish" as website states. This is a little darker than Skimpy and more of a coral shade. I love this color as well, and usually wear a nude gloss over top.

|| Bichette -  Matte finish. "Deep red wine in a matte finish. Boys will be fawn-ing over you."  I wore this color last weekend and it was beautiful! It felt comfortable, and lasted a good while. I blotted it a few times to make it a little more matte, however. If I wear a dark color, it HAS to be matte. No lipstick on the teeth for this girl! This is creamier for a typical matte finish, which some like and some don't. I could have done with a little more of a matte finish with these but they still are great.

|| Pitch - Matte finish. "This rich blackened chocolate brown in a matte finish is practically perfect." Soooo for me I was a tad disappointed with this color. It was a pretty bold pick for me in the first place, but I heard good reviews so I decided to go for it. It is not very matte like it says. If it was a truer matte I think I would like it. I got this color only because it was compared to "Salem" by Lime Crime which has been sold out for quite a while now. This color is pretty, if your into darker, browns shades. I probably won't get much use of this, but that's okay. You don't know until you try, right!?

I think that's about it for today's blog post! If you hung around to read the whole post, THANK YOU. I appreciate YOU. Please leave comments down below of products you have been loving lately! :-)

These lipsticks get a 12 out of 10. They are simply amazing. I own 3 colors - Coquette, Cosmopop, and Babette. Phenomenal color payoff with just one swipe. My all time favorite high-end lipsticks are MAC, which are amazing in quality & pigment, but honestly - these Lime Crime lipsticks blow them out of the water. These are so full of life! Lime Crime's website reads this about them: "Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words." I couldn't agree more! They have a nice warm vanilla scent to them, just like the MAC lipsticks. And personally, I love that scent. The lasting power on these is impeccable - I wore Coquette to work yesterday, and it stayed on without any touch-up for about 5 hours, including eating and drinking in it. These lipsticks feel very comfortable on the lips, they're a mix between satin and matte in my opinion. The website doesn't say what the formula actually is, as far as I could find. My only negative on these is the price. They are a bit pricey for my personal budget - (but definitely worth it). I wouldn't mind so much if the website offered Free Shipping (not just if you spent $50) with them, because once you add shipping costs, you're up to about $23 for your order. But, really, that's a small thing considering how amazing these bad boys are. Are we ready to see the swatches now?!

The first one is Coquette, an everyday peachy - nude. (My favorite)

Next we have Cosmopop, a soft orange color.

And lastly here is Babette, a beautiful pinky - nude color.

And all 3 swatches next to each other. From Left to Right - Coquette, Cosmopop, Babette

Thanks so much for reading today's post! I hope you all enjoyed, and this helped in any way. Please leave comments down below of any Lime Crime lipsticks you have tried.

Have a great day, and stay polished! XXOO, Lyss
